While visiting Seattle last fall with my husband we took a tour to visit several wine vineyards. On the way the tour stopped at Snoqualmie Falls.

We really were more interested in getting to our destination than we were of looking at a waterfall. I insisted on at least snapping off a few photos before following my non-photography husband to the Salish Lodge which sits at the top of the falls. I wish I could show you a photo of the view we enjoyed from the lodge looking back at the river below. Instead I will show you a photo of the view my husband chose upon our arrival at the lodge.

Both views did however fit my theme “Splash!”

And because the story isn’t complete without it…. the wine!

Hi, my name is Mindy Towns, I live in Lakewood Ranch, Florida. Along with several friends I have been participating in a weekly, theme based, photo blog since August 2012. Each year we receive a new list of 52 themes. We then post a photo each week that fits one of the themes along with a brief description about why we feel the photo fits the theme. Over the years I have learned a lot about my camera, new photography technics and also a lot about my fellow bloggers. I've peeked into their homes, met their families and traveled to exotic places through their photos. This year I am challenging myself further by trying to become even more creative in my posts. I found the cutest little Playmobil person complete with a camera and a little dog. She is going to be my little personal assistant over the coming months. I'm going to use many of the photo skills I have learned from participating in the photo challenge along with some new photoshop tools I have been practicing. I hope you will continue to follow my blog as I change things up a bit this year. Perhaps some of you will raid someones toy chest or toss something cute into your Target shopping cart and get a little silly with me. If you want to see examples of my grown up photography please visit one of my links listed on this blogs home page!

  1. When I saw the words “Vineyard” and “Splash”, I would expect NOTHING LESS THAN seeing WINE!

  2. There was plenty of wine that day! Hmmm, maybe I should have included one more photo?!

  3. You captured the Snoqualmie Falls beautifully and painted a perfect picture with the Salish Lodge in the background. Knowing full well the answer, I must ask: ” … wine … where is the wine?”

  4. Great memory of stopping there for breakfast one Saturday many years ago and being greeted by, “Do you have reservations?”
My initial reaction was, “Should we?” as in, “What do we need to know that we don’t?”
Despite the one-price/you-get-it-all (and there went most of our budget), it was an experience to cherish. Then it was on to Seattle.

  5. I like Mike’s choice too! Lovely photos as always and lovely place to visit.

  6. Lovely photo of the falls.

  7. This is the first time I have seen this post. Love the photo of studio-us Mike! πŸ™‚
